Using up Scraps

I'm trying to use up all my scraps lately as I have way too much and it's cluttering my brain as well as my creative space!

I thought I would share my creations - Mum and Dad will take these and more with them on their trip up to Darwin in their bus to sell to the travellers they meet along the way!

I pulled out the left over bits from a class sample that I made for last month using the Echo Park Little Girl Range.

I mostly had Journalling Cards left over so I pulled out my folder of scraps and this is what I came up with.

A paper scrap organisation tip I have it to cut up a selection of large paper scraps into card fronts - 14cm x 10cm and keep them handy so you can rumage through them when you have smaller scraps to use on quick cards!

This is super old Stampin Up paper - It's been hanging around for ages so I'm glad to be using it finally!

The ribbon ruffles add some dimension!

I love love love these lolly pop flowers, they are just scraps of paper punched using nesting punches or nestability circles and your cuttlebug, stacked and stapled with the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher! These ones I've crumpled a little bit for some dimension.

These ones I've left flat for a cleaner look.

Just some left over flowers and a brad on top of a journalling block which has been layered with a couple of bits of cardstock.

I've used the star motif on the journalling tag and copied it by adding a larger chipboard star as the focal point!

Nice and easy - Just because it is a journalling tag doesn't mean you have to write on it - Break the rules sometimes! It's fun!

Lots of layering and another ribbon ruffle.

Buttons and string - Simple and oh sew cute!

Thanks for stopping by my blog - Hope you like it!

Happy Easter...

I hope you all had a fabulous Easter and Anzac Day Long Weekend!
I've had a great time. I've been wanting to do this printers tray from 7Gypsies for ages now for display in store and today I finally got to it. I bought these Papers from the Be Mine collection from Echo Park ages ago with intention to use them for the photos I took at my good friend Rachael's wedding which was in April 2010! So after a year I have finally got around to it and here is the finished result!

(The saying is "Love is like a butterfly, it settles upon you when you least expect it")
I love it and I've made a vow with myself after trying to organise my scraps that after I complete a project I will make as many cards as I can with the left overs before I start another project.

I made these 10 cards with the left overs from the Printers Tray and I am more than happy with the results.

Edges are inked with Black Soot Distress Ink and the ribbon is Vandross Organza in Black.

Love the bird cage! with the escapee on top! Cheeky in an elegant way!

These little heart mirrors are by Twiddlybits! I've had them for ages and not really known what to do with them so I'm so happy I found a use for them and I'm really happy with the result! I think I will have to buy some more.

I used Black Cordinations with a pink core - I just sanded the edges to get a pink border! How easy is that!

I couldn't possible have made 10 cards without using my favourite Monarch Butterfly Punch by Martha Stewart!

Love this saying by Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous! Also used vintage linen thread that I got from a junk shop! I actually bought it for the wooden reel but the thread is beautiful! Bonus!

I have a ton of chipboard bits and these 2 bracketty type frames were perfect to add a little bit of interest!

This one is a tattered angels chipboard mistable frame - I spritzed it with Raven Glimmermist and then sanded the top layer back as the chipboard has an embossed image it came up beautifully.

Again with the cute mirror hearts - I also love this ribbon ruffling lately - So easy and so effective.

Love this Fleur de Leis! and the Tim Holtz Film Strip is perfect.

This is a beautiful range from Echo Park - Come in a pick some up from Pages 2 Scrap for your next crafting project!

A Big Change for Bec...

Hi Everyone, Long time no Blog!
My lame excuse is that I have recently been made redundant from my full time job which kind of sent me in a tailspin!
Don't get me wrong! It wasn't the worst thing in the world but somehow I fell into a Lazy Coma and have been doing not very much of anything productive since my last day which was now almost 3 weeks ago!

So, I have finally regained my motivation (slightly) and
I have a ton of classes lined up for April!

I am teaching 2 classes on Wednesday (which is technically today!), the first is at 10.30am for 2 hours and is a 3 quick layouts class using absolultey gorgeous and fun Echo Park Patterned Papers. This class is suitable for both beginners and seasoned scrapbookers. All you need to bring with you is your paper trimmer and some double sided tape! Oh! and of course a bundle of photos that you don't mind cropping! Also don't forget you can bring your USB drive and we can print your suitable photos right instore instantly - How awesome is that!

Here is a sneaky peak of the Samples I made!

If you would like to attend you can just turn up at 10.30am, but if you can please call Sue on 1300 664 228 after 9am to book your place.

If you like the look of this class but you are busy tomorrow,
I am teaching it again on Saturday the 16th of April at 2pm till 4pm.

Class fee including kit is $30

I am also teaching a Create with Cuttlebug Class tomorrow afternoon which is designed to show you what you can do with your cuttlebug machine. This class is also perfect for beginners but you will learn lots and have heaps of fun even if you have been using your Cuttlebug for years. You will go home with a sample booklet full of beautiful samples that you can either keep as a reference or use on your scrapbook layouts or cards.

This class starts at 1.30pm and finishes at 3.30pm

If you have your own Cuttlebug please bring it along with your
A plate
B plate x2
C plate if you have one

You can bring your own embossing folders and dies but they are not required.

Class fee including kit is $30

Please call Sue after 9am to book your place, bookings will be essential for this class as there are limited places available.

I hope to see you tomorrow but if not I hope to see you at another of my classes over the next few months.
